Alert! Alert! New Information! I was asked to step down from my position as the tenth grade English and oral communication teacher at the school I was teaching at in south Arkansas. I was told that I lacked classroom management skills. I guess my blog is going to be boring for a little while. I have decided to move back to White Hall and sub at the schools in the area. The school I was at is in year six of school improvement and I was wondering if that could have anything to do with the situation. Any ideas?

Alert! Alert! New Information! My students had their first grammar test. I only had about ten students who past the test. I am not sure what happened. We went over the information and everyone did great on the homework. We reviewed for two days and everyone did great on the review sheets. During this process, the students worked by themselves, in small groups, and at the board. I do not understand what went wrong. I even explained to them how the test would be set up. I was told by a veteran teacher that students always do horrible on the first test. Is this true?
